COMPANION PASS: Stephanie Feild
Hi, I’m Stephanie Feild, also known as Kaycee Feild’s better half (wink). I am a small town girl (with big city taste! Just ask Kaycee. LOL!) I grew up out in the country in beautiful Montana.
It was summer 2009 and the summer that changed my life. Some girlfriends and I took a road trip to Cheyenne, Wyoming to see the one & only GEORGE STRAIT perform in concert at the “The Daddy”. Kaycee was riding in the rodeo the next day, we had a mutual friend that I knew from Montana and Kaycee knew through Rodeo who introduced us. Who knew I’d meet my baby's Daddy at the Daddy?! Kaycee has been my best friend ever since we laid eyes on each other that day at Cheyenne. We did the long distance thing for a while... the “on and off” thing for a bit... and then... we GOT MARRIED! That was the Summer of 2012 and now here we are 7 years later with the 3 most AMAZING kiddos. Our oldest Chaimberlyn, age 6, she is super sweet with just enough sass. Huxyn, age 4, is all boy and his Daddy's biggest fan. Last but not least, there is Remingtyn, age 1, she has swooped in and stolen our hearts and is the perfect finishing piece to our puzzle.
Being a wife to a 4X World Champion Bareback Rider is inspiring, and pretty entertaining. Kaycee pushes me to be a better woman, mother and friend. He is constantly encouraging me and adores me beyond what I knew was possible of a man. That doesn't mean he's perfect, nor am I…but that’s kinda the point to this earthly life, right? To learn and make each other better or at least that’s what I tell myself (wink). Together we are doing just that; we push and tease with each other and have a great time, all while helping each other grow. He’s made all my dreams come true and I strive to do the same for him! Being able to stay home and be there for my kids is something I will forever be grateful for.
I grew up with a hard working Momma that worked tirelessly to provide for me and my two brothers. Family time wasn’t something we got a ton of, and because of that I was on my own a lot at a young age. Being independent at a young age was a hidden blessing. I believe the Lord was preparing me to be a “Rodeo Wife”.
Being a wife to a rodeo athlete is so FUN and I wouldn't trade this life for anything. With that said, its NOT always easy. As time goes on, the harder it gets for our family to be apart, and being apart is the HARDEST part in my opinion. While he is gone, I have a constant prayer in my heart asking Heavenly Father to keep him safe on the road, and especially in the arena. When he is on the road, it’s up to me to hold the fort down and... while he’s home too LOL. Because of that I’ve had some pretty epic fails… a few that involve a skid steer while trying to get chores done (whoops). See, Kaycee is that person that is annoyingly good at everything he does. He makes everything look easy. For instance when feeding the cows with the skid steer, he would lift the hay over the fence and drop it perfectly into the round feeder. Easy right? Well, once when he was gone I thought I would give it a shot but when I dropped the hay in the feeder, the feeder flipped up on top of the skid steer forks. No matter how much I tried to get my self out of the mess, it was only getting worse. I gave up shortly after almost tearing the fence out and braking the feeder! I had to call my brother in law, Jade to come and save the day. Thankfully, I have inherited amazing in-laws that live close and are there for me, anytime, day or night. Seriously...saints. I married into an amazing family, if you know the Feild family, I am sure you would agree!
Kaycee is very fortunate to come from a rodeo family. His late father was a 5X World Champion. Kaycee knew at a young age he wanted to follow in his Dad’s footsteps. He watched the hard work, dedication and commitment it takes to become a World Champion, not only in his career but also in his personal relationships.
Back when Chaimberlyn was a baby, the three of us travelled everywhere together. We were able to explore our beautiful Country as a family. The ability to travel with him during those years was a HUGE blessing that I am so grateful for. He never missed a milestone of hers, and we never missed a ride of his. As our family has continued to grow and our oldest child started school we haven't been able to live on the road like we once did. It’s definitely been a bittersweet adjustment. Even though we don’t get to hit the road as much now, I love that my kids get to experience the lifestyle we live. Rodeo has given us the opportunity to meet amazing people. Being apart makes us appreciate our family and having a place to call home. My kids get to see their dad accomplish his dreams and learn that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
When Kaycee and I were dating I made my first trip to the NFR and oh my goodness, I had NO CLUE what I was getting myself into. It’s kinda comical to think I had never even watched the NFR until I met Kaycee. The one thing I most definitely didn’t realize is that I had no idea the fashion there was SO BIG! Having a day outfit and a night outfit blew my mind. To look back on photos is pretty entertaining and slightly embarrassing. Most people joke about how insane the fashion gets, I even joke and make fun of myself for getting so caught up in it! The way I see it is - life is short and if you feel beautiful and confident in whatever you wear then girl, DO YOU! Wear whatever you want and whatever makes YOU feel beautiful. It’s not something I will get to do forever so I definitely live it up! I wish I could freeze time because this life has been nothing short of AMAZING. Getting the opportunity to cheer my man on for 10 days is priceless, Vegas will always be something I look forward to every year! The memories we have created on the journey to making the NFR will forever be irreplaceable. It’s going to be bittersweet when Kaycee is done accomplishing his goals and hangs up his hat. As a family we are focusing on enjoying the good times while they last.
Hope you enjoyed a little behind the scenes of my life and see what it is like holding Kaycee’s Companion Pass.
